Letter to My FRANS!

Dearest ANOMALY fans,

I have the best fans in the world. Or, as I’d like to call you – FRANS. Fans who have become friends. You have been amazing in ways I could have never imagined. Some of you have helped spread the word about my book simply because you enjoy young adult literature or love science fiction. Some of you told others about my book because you are my family or friend and you like/love me and have seen me work hard over the last couple years sacrificing time with you. And there are those of you who really “got” what I was trying to do with ANOMALY, with the main character Josie.

I made Josie a scifi nerd for a reason. She is into fandoms, she owns her geekiness, and she finds COMFORT IN FICTION. That’s what fandoms or being into gaming or fantasy or…anything does. It unifies us. Being a nerd or being in a fandom immediately gives us a sense of belonging. I tried to make Josie relatable because aren’t we all nerds in some capacity? Geek, Nerd, and even Dork don’t mean what they used to.  Those terms all mean you are passionate about something and there is nothing wrong with loving something with your whole being. There is nothing wrong with being a nerd.

A book nerd. A scifi nerd. A tennis nerd. A Star Wars nerd. A Gravity Falls nerd. A swim nerd. A cheer nerd. A fashion nerd. An art nerd. A math nerd. A nature nerd. A fishing nerd. A car nerd. An exercise nerd. An antiques nerd. A cooking nerd. It’s all just what you are passionate about and passion is a good thing.

That is one of the main things I wanted readers of all ages to get out ANOMALY. Be you. Be a nerd for something. It’s okay. Actually, it’s awesome.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for being such caring, loving, and kind fans, friends, and family!!!! Please, continue to tell friends about ANOMALY, keep sending me messages, reach out to me on social media!!!! I WANT to hear from you.

Mad love from the bottom of my dorky heart,

xoxo Tonya
